This track was originally released on the Hungarian label, Floppy Kick. They invited me to curate a compilation of Cleveland, Ohio area music experimentalists. SPECIMEN was the result.

In addition to curating the project, I designed the artwork, wrote the liner notes and contributed one track “ETERNAL SCREAM TRAPPED IN A GRAIN OF SAND” under LURE OF THE UNKNOWN.

Interestingly, Floppy Kick specializes in releasing music on 3.5 floppy diskette and Specimen is an example of such a release.

The floppy diskette has limited space. A total space of 1.44 MB.

Quite small when you consider Specimen features 15 performers. Eternal Scream Trapped in a Grain of Sand is not only the longest title on the compilation, its the longest natural piece on Specimen.

Taking into account that the the title accurately describes the sound imagine how it combines a beatless yet techno feel with experimentation and noise.
